National Women’s Month in the Philippines

 

            The Philippines simply took its inspiration from the United Nations when it came to celebrating women's rights and representation. In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly declared March 8 as International Women's Day, paving the way for the country. In spite of the fact that women have been forming human history since the day break of civilization, the concept of Women's History Month has its roots solidly embedded within the date Walk 8, 1857, when ladies from Modern York City production lines dissented untenable working conditions.

            The objective of National Women’s Month is to inspire and empower women and girls to be agents of change – to contribute in promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women, and to also create and facilitate platforms to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges, and commitments in pursuing gender and development (GAD) – to strengthen implementation of the Magna Carta of Women.

            I believe that it is truly necessary to celebrate National Women’s month because it helps women gain confidence. In celebrating this, people will appreciate the sacrifices and efforts of women in our everyday life
